‘I’ve just spent a week with Eric at the magnificent Craigielaw Golf Club on Scotland’s ‘Golf Coast’ in East Lothian where the facilities are first class.
I am a late starter to golf, 67 years old and a 14 handicap player struggling to make further progress and like many golfers suffering from inconsistent ball striking.
Keen to improve I decided to drive the 5 hours to Craigielaw from England to see Eric and I can say without any doubt it has been the best golfing decision I have ever made.
First and foremost Eric is a great guy, easy to get on with and extremely experienced and knowledgeable about the game. He assessed me on day 1 and to be honest the video images of my swing didn’t make great viewing! However the videos at the end of day 5 were very different, with me hitting the ball over 250 yards down the range and with a nice draw shape. The additional bonus was that the video showed that I had actually begun to swing the club like a proper golfer.
Eric didn’t race through things, he is keen on doing things right before moving on to the next phase and in 5 days managed to take my swing to pieces and rebuild it to the point that it not only looks pleasing but also means I can now hit the ball where I want it to go.
My advice to anyone who is serious about improving their game is not to make the old mistake of spending endless money on new clubs and the latest drivers etc, which only serve to compound your swing faults, but to spend that money on proper tuition and I’m not sure you will find a better teacher than Eric.
I’m already arranging a further visit to see Eric early next year to build on this week’s progress’.
NB Thanks for your patience and commitment Eric it’s a week I will never forget. If I could have stayed for another week then I would but I will definitely be back!
